Christmas Eve

The santuary of Christ Church Lake Forest is filled with darkness. Then, gradually, candles light up the room as each person passes the flame to their neighbor. The huge space is filled with glowing candles, and the song "Silent Night" begins. For the last verse of "Silent Night," the congragation sings acapella. Silence holds out for one beautiful moment with the candlelight filling the room. This is what I love about Christmas.
